Jackie's 15th birthday

This post sure surprised me!!! While reading "My first kiss", I'm thinking "I don't remember this....I don't remember being at your 15th birthday party, a best friend Terry nor her brother Phil". So I was very perplexed when reading this.
Then it hit me!!! When you turned 15, I was 19....married, pregnant, and not living at home anymore. I don't know who that masked Kathy impersonator was, but it wasn't me lol.

  1. Mom's memory faulty......NO way! LOL.

Actually, I know how she feels. Childhood memories are hazy sometimes. I have trouble with the details of similar stories myself. Heck, I have trouble remembering what I had for breakfast yesterday. :-) But in the end, it is the feelings that matter most, and the stories you three sister hold have wonderful feelings. You are all very lucky to have each other. As you know, not all families have the closeness you can feel when we all get together like we did in Wamego or Angela's wedding. Obviously, Grandma and Grandpa Younge did something right. Love you!

  2. You are very correct, we know we're lucky and yes your grandma and grandpa did something real right. I didn't mean to sound like I was being critical of sis. I was just thrown because I couldn't remember it.

  3. I knew you weren't being critical. If you ever read my blogs, I often say "my memory may be hazy on this....but it is what I remember". I actually had to ask Michelle if you went to that family reunion in Wamego in 1976. I remembered me Michelle and grandma, but could not rmember if you were there. I was only nine...it happens.

It was the same when I wrote about my memories of Grandpa. Not sure if you saw it. You can find it at http://danrambling.blogspot.com/2009/03/grandpa-younge.html Memories of Wamego is at http://danrambling.blogspot.com/2009/03/1976-wemego-family-reunion.html

  4. Hey sis, you are three years older than me not four. When I was a freshman (15th b-day) you were a senior still living at home. You had to have been there when Aunt Hazel stayed with us, she use to flash the porchlight on you so you'd come on in from a date, and stop "lingering".
